What is a life if it hasn’t experienced love? The sheer
joy of surrendering unconditionally and giving boundlessly…of losing oneself to
the spirituality of it and finding oneself, all at the same time!
Love, somehow, is a window unto thyself; it subtly
explains your own traits as a reflection of those that you find endearing in
the person you love. And this one emotion encompasses a whole gamut of
sentiments – anger, irritation, despair, longing, attachment, reticence,
passion and compassion! Love often brings to the fore emotions that would
otherwise lie latent.
It’s hard to imagine love without music. Or, may be, I am
being the typical Indian who loves her movies! Music is the most complete form
of expression; no matter what, it would never fail!
Right from the lovely trick of serenading one’s lady love
to the lovelier trick of letting a lover know you’re disappointed, music comes
in handy at all times.
Personally, my taste in music has evolved over the years.
From the days of ‘head-banging’ to heavy metal, much to my mother’s chagrin, to
relaxing to some fine classical music, now, to her delight, it has been a
journey of understanding music as much as myself.
I'd like to share a thumri in the very romantic Raga Khamaj...
